Throwback Thursday--Julianuary

NME awards in 2010 when The Mighty Boosh won The Best DVD for the Future Sailors Tour. Noel wasn't there, so Julian does the majority of the talking. So a good selection for Julianuary.

Weirdly Noel

So Buzzfeed did this article entitled "22 Times Noel Fielding Was The Most Weirdly Hilarious Man In Britain",  which the Tumblr fandom has known (and discussed ad naueam) for years. So there's that.

Noel Fielding With Bobcat Goldthwait

Someone I follow on Tumblr was lucky enough to be in the audience and they shared some highlights. It must have been amazingly funny. You can see that Noel is having a blast. One of the funniest things I've seen lately!

Throw Back Thursday

This is a bit of a lengthy interview with Noel and Julian  from 2009, close to the end of their 10+ years run. The interviewer mentions that they tended to talk over each other and end each other's sentences. I imagine there had been so many interviews with the same questions, it was almost an act for them. They knew the questions, they knew the answers. A bit Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum by this point! Anyway, it's a good read. Find it here: A.V.Club

A League of Their Own

Noel has so much going on right now, I can't keep up! I haven't watched this yet, but I'm going to soon. (Not even sure what it is.) So, I have no comments to make. Just watch it--if you want! Oh, and Jack Whitehall is on it, so there's that.

(Note--so I didn't actually watch it. I tried, I really did. But I couldn't get into it. So he may have made some funny comments that I missed. --I may give it another try later-- But...at the 38:58 mark Noel comes out in a Cricket uniform, and looks rather dashing. So check that part out.)

Noel on SeriousXM

Noel talks with Ron Bennington at SeriousXM about David Bowie, coming to America, Trump, Bobcat Goldthwait, Robin Williams, Jonathan Winters, and San Francisco. Half hour, but well worth the time. Great interview!

In Tribute

Just heard of the passing of David Bowie, and am of course saddened. My musical tastes were very 60s and early 70s when I was in High School, so Bowie was naturally a part of my collection. He helped so many people by being a bit strange and androgynous and different. I thought "The Man That Fell To Earth" was deep, and he was the best part of Labyrinth.  He influenced more than one generation of young people, and he'll be remembered for that.

Love Games (sort of)

Okay, I normally don't post this kind of stuff. But really, you have to listen to it. Lovely! I found it on Tumblr at desmondsprettyface.tumblr.com

The Big Fat Quiz Of Everything

There is nothing to say. Noel and Richard together. Brilliant! It's a fabulous panel, across the board. Why can't we have TV like this in the USofA? That's what I want to know.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2015

So Bad Dong becomes a thing in this episode of Big Fat Quiz, thanks to Richard Ayoade and Greg Davies. Okay, this is a bit long-- an hour and a half long, but it's a brilliant panel so do what I did, if your time is limited-- I watched it in half hour segments. Funny stuff, as always!

More Julianuary

A bit of "baby Ju" for our Sunday! This picture is used in an article by DailyMail.com and describes Julian's part in the play NSFW. (his character sounds a bit like Jonathan Yeah?!) The article is dated Nov/Dec 2012. Somehow, I think this picture might be older than that! But, that's okay.

Mindhorn

From Deadline Hollywood, it really does sound like the oddest thing ever. But with Julian and Simon, I guess we expect that!

"A heavyweight line-up of talent is assembling for Brit comedy feature Mindhorn. Written by Julian Barratt and Simon Farnaby of cult fave The Mighty Boosh, and directed by award-winning theatre director Sean Foley (The Play What I Wrote) who makes his feature debut here. Mindhorn is produced by Jack Arbuthnott at Scott Free and Laura Hastings-Smith in association with Baby Cow."
