As I predicted, the comments on the video were rather divided. I don't normally read comments, just because of the trolls and people can get rather nasty for no good reason except that they can. But I really was curious this time. Anyway, what I read was mainly "why would Sean do this? He was Michael's friend?" I didn't really see anything too nasty about Noel and Mike. Of course, maybe if I had kept reading... Anyway, if you want Sean's thoughts on it, you can read them [here].

So a few months back there was a picture of Noel dressed as Michael Jackson, and Mike as a monkey. Oh, my dear, what have you done? I see the humor in it, but I bet he's going to get some shit over this!

Mike describes his role in An Evening With… as a lot more developed than the role he played on the Boosh tours, which is something he enjoys. I ask him how the working relationship between Noel, Tom and himself differs from that of the Boosh gang. “Its very different working as a trio,” he says. “Noel, Tom and I get on very well, we never fall out – even when we’re living in each others’ pockets on the road. When you have a bigger group, like the Boosh tour did, there’s too many egos in the pot; always someone trying to outshine the others or be the loudest. There’s great camaraderie in our trio; we call ourselves the Peloton, as we all have each others backs equally.”

The Power of Three

An article from The Velvet Onion posted in November of last year, it talks about "Evening" pre-America, when Tom was touring as part of the trio. This article centers around Tom and Mike, giving it a different perspective. It's interesting to see what other projects the two are involved in. 

The Interro Bang

An interview that was done after the tour instead of during it, which is nice because we see Noel's reflections on it. He compares it to the European and Australian tours. And he likes us, he really likes us! My hope from the beginning was that we as a country would make a good impression, and it sounds like we did. So that's a relief. I know the venues were small, but I almost get the feeling he was surprised that they were all sold out.  He doesn't realize how dedicated his fans are, apparently!

Another write-up about AEWNF, I wasn't sure at first if the author was familiar with Noel, but apparently is,  at least his television work, although he admits he isn't familiar with his stand-up. The writer saw the last show of the tour, in Vancouver. Nice run-down of the show. Read the Concert Addicts article here.

Much of the show seemed pretty off-the-cuff, though I am not too sure if that is because he came up with unique material on the fly or if he just has such an easygoing canter to his speech that it comes across as winging it.

Noel and gang have posted so many selfies on Twitter and Instagram over the last few weeks that I'm going to need a month to catch up. But I'll give it the old college try!

Goth Detective or Magical Comedy Fairies?

This is a first: an article that starts with his pairing with Russel Brand "whether you consider them Goth Detectives or magical comedy fairies". But it makes sense, if one is introducing him to an audience who (assumedly) has no knowledge of The Mighty Boosh, but do know who Russel is. This isn't an interview, but mainly a run-down of AEWNF. Maybe, it could even be considered an introduction, although the writer doesn't go into his history very much. I would consider this as more of  one of those articles that you see in the Sunday Entertainment part of the paper that tell about a show/movie without really rating it. It just tells you what to expect. You know, the kind of thing you read to decide if you want to spend your time and money. Read at Comic's Comic, a guide to comedians, comedy and comedy news.

Back In Black-- 15 Days!

So it would appear that Noel has gone back to black. I really did wonder how he was going to work that red/orange hair into the Plasticine world. I don't think the blond hair got nearly as controversial as this last little foray into Noelian hair play. We really are too obsessed with his hair! (but to be fair, he started it!)

The Series Two Luxury Comedy documentary. You know the filming of this show was absolute bonkers, although I'm just as sure the whole thing was extremely stressful. Noel really does know all the best people! Anyway, I'm sure I've posted this before, but it's worth a second viewing!
