A Mighty Boosh Halloween

Just about perfect for Halloween! The Hitcher grew and developed through each series until he was perfect by Series 3, at least in my humble opinion, making him into a favorite character.

Subtle Yet Complex

A still from the Series 3 trailer. 40 seconds that perfectly represents their personalities (or at least Howard and Vince's)! Watch it here!

Which Fox?

I kept seeing references to What Does The Fox Say so I finally looked it up. Bazaar, yes. Oh, the things we have access to. Isn't the internet fantastic! Then this popped up a couple of times. It had to, didn't it! The Crack Fox is a bit creepier, but maybe only marginally!

The Mighty Boosh • Future Sailors Tour • Trailer

When did Noel with a banana become such a "thing"? I can't even see a banana without thinking about tarantula eggs anymore! If I thought he would show up and bring me a banana, I would watch Future Sailors every day!

A photo from Dave's Behind the Boosh show at Proud Camden. Tom Meeten joins the two here. I think I can label this one as a "favorite picture", just because!

Favorite Pictures--Beautiful Boys!

Because they are all beautiful in this one! My first thought when I saw this picture was "God, Noel is gorgeous. Oh, but so is Julian. And Mike. And Dave. Even Rich. Wow!" (Plus Noel is wearing one of my favorite sweaters.) It's a win-win for everyone!

Dave The Photographer

Proud Gallery's latest exhibition, Behind the Boosh: Photographs by Dave Brown
"‘This pic of Eleanor comes from the set of series three, which was shot on an old army base. There were a lot of decrepit, abandoned buildings like the one behind us. It looks as though Eleanor is thinking: One sock lowered = extreeeeemely available.’ Rich Fulcher"

Dave's show opened last night at Proud Camden. According to one account, also attending was Noel, Julia and Nigel. Pictures of the Gallery look amazing. I soo which I could go to London and see for myself!

A bit Abbey Road! Only with a Cross guard? Okay, not. But still fabulous!

Festival Supreme Fashion Watch

Over the last few weeks we've been blessed with loads of new pictures and some new fashions. In the first picture Julian is wearing a jacket with pull-away elbow patches that reveal elbow tassels underneath. And Noel still sparkles in black! Love it! We know from the past that he gets favorite boots that he wears with everything (look in old pics for the silver ones!) and now he seems to like his new modified cowboy boots that we first saw a few months ago in pictures from the upcoming series two of Luxury Comedy. The second picture is more traditional. Old Gregg, but bare legged. I wondered if there were people in the audience (especially Friday night at The Comedy Club) who have never seen The Mighty Boosh-- what do they make of it?!

They Got The Funk

I'll probably do highlights from the weekend all week. I would apologize, but if you're a true Boosh fan I don't think you'll really mind! The Old Gregg episode was possibly one of the first episodes I watched and  Love Games was the first Boosh song I made an effort to learn. They have changed up the words, added lots more story to the song, which is brilliant. "They called off the search way back in June." Howard scats. And then they sing about Stockholm Syndrome. "Hey, Howard, what's it called when someone falls in love with the person that kidnaps them?" I love the books, so I love the fact that they have made it part of the song. Some of the Tumblr fangirls seemed surprised, maybe a bit embarrassed that they know about it. It doesn't mean they have read it (but don't you just bet they have--at least parts of it!?) Okay, this got a bit longer than I meant it to. But what can I say-- I love these guys! Brilliant video. Thanks,Shannon7291.

Mighty Boosh at Festival Supreme

So this happened. Festival Supreme was yesterday and despite the problems that the group had getting into the country and the resulting  cancellation of their show on Thursday, last night's performance appears to have gone well. For those of us not able to attend, there was rumors of a live feed that turned out to be bogus. Tumblr exploded for a bit, then totally went down for a little while. (Did we do that? I can't imagine, but maybe!) This morning was spent trolling for whatever snippets I could find. Here is a nice video (a bit rough but who cares!) posted by andyourbirdcansing.   This  person posted several small videos on YouTube. Take a look, and a big Thank You for them!

Favorite Pictures

One of the reasons I love these guys-- they way they are always looking at each. They genuinely like each other. They try to make each other laugh (and always succeed). They always seem sensitive to the other's feelings and reactions. I try very hard to not ship them because I don't feel comfortable shipping real people, but they make it difficult! I really do love these guys!

Baby Boosh; Fashion Watch

Notice the pants; they're not as tight as he usually wears them these days! But the boots are in keeping.

The Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton

Dave and Noel at a book signing from 2011. The Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton  is total genius. I find Noel's use of color and abstract line-of-consciousness style inspiring. Because of this book, I've picked up a pencil again, and have even done a little painting. And we can't forget Dave's photography. He is just as much an artist as Noel (and he's so cute!)

Yowza Howard!

Howard trying to be part of an electro-band in the Series One episode Electro. He's meant to be a bit ridiculous in the episode, but taken out of context here he's rather yowza!

Live at the Pleasance

This was recorded and published by Jenni Thunder (Twitter), who was at the Thursday show. It's a bit rough because she said she recorded it on her phone but that's okay. Hello Little Deer is such an awesome, awful song  (it's my favorite). I was singing it and my daughter suddenly asked "is that about kidnapping?" Why, yes, and then some! And it's genius! This video just made me laugh with happiness, Noel doing a Luxury Comedy voice* and Julian on his guitar. And then that little Hitcher surprise at the end. Oh, I so wish I could be in LA next weekend!

*Lysergic Casserole, Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy-- Jelly Fox, or maybe it's Roy Circles, or maybe Dondy Lion.... now I'm not sure! I'm getting confused. Every time I watch it, I change my mind. Anyone else have a thought?

Glamour Nana

A still from Nanageddon (The Mighty Boosh, series 2). Was this the start of Noel in a dress?

Favorite Pictures

The Mighty Boosh Band is doing another practice-gig tonight, leading up to The Festival Supreme, which is in a 10 days (yes, I'm counting!). This time they are going to be at the Pleasance Islington. I don't know how big of a venue it is, but it sold out quickly, just like the shows last week. Hopefully, there will be pictures.

My Fantasy!

The Candy Man

A bit of nonsense from Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Season 27, Episode 2). The Candy Man ran out, hassled Lethal Bizzle for a moment, than ran off. One has to wonder if Noel wasn't behind it, it seems like something he would do. It was so Dench!

New Music!

Back in 2010 or 2011 (I'm not sure when, exactly) The Mighty Boosh Band recorded an album in New York at Jimmy Hendricks' studio but it was never produced and released. Now, with all of the excitement of the group performing together again, this song, Sunflash and Buble, was premiered by Lliana Bird on Xfm yesterday evening. The Boosh community was all in a tither! And, yes, I was one of them! God bless the computer age where an American can listen to a radio station out of London! Now, hopefully, this means the album is finished and set to be released. We can only hope! (I have a theory, which will prove it's self one way or another in the next two weeks!) Some more info from The Velvet Onion here

The Voice of Barratt

This entry is a bit different, because no pictures of the boys, no videos of the boys. But you get to hear Julian's voice! He has done several commercials, and you know that distinctive timbre as soon as you hear it! He could probably make a nice living just doing voice-overs for the rest of his life. Hopefully, he never figures that out!

The Velvet Onion

The Velvet Onion  is a great place to keep up on all things Boosh, and of course they were at both Soho Theater gigs. They did a nice piece about the shows and included a few pictures. Read it here.  If you are a Boosh fan and don't already follow The Onion, I highly recommend it.

From Journey of the Childmen-watch it if you haven't seen it. It's during an after show party . He leans in and kisses the camera. But, oh, the eyes! It's like he's looking across time and space and staring right at us! (find this part at the 21:40 mark)

Kryptonite

Noel from the extras talking about his costume from a scene from Power of the Crimp playing Vince who thinks his life is over and he's going mainstream. Thank goodness, it doesn't end that way. Vince/Noel "normal"? Horrifying! (but still hot!)

Noel and Dave: Art Genius'

It's no secret around my house that I think Noel is an artistic genius. I would so love to own some of his work. Not in my budget, so I've settled for his book, The Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton. The pictures here are from November, 2011, the first when they painted a billboard at London's Golden Square, the second a window they did at Waterstone's in Manchester, both times with an audience watching. Oh, to be in that crowd! Find the story here.
