Purple Highlights and White Roses

I normally don't post Tumblr peoples personal photos, but this one is from the Chicago show, and it's the shirt Noel was wearing when I was there, so I'm assuming it's the same night (unless he wore the same top both nights?) Anyway, I wasn't brave enough to take pictures during the show--we were sitting on the edge and there was a guy standing there, giving first warnings to those who were brave enough to try, so I'm going to "borrow" this one from almondmocha, just to better preserve my memories of that night! (he's just so pretty!) The lighting made his hair shine purple. A bit of a silly comment, I know, but it's something I noticed all night long. I always thought the joke was funny in the show that people wanted to touch his hair, but I really did! (now I understand!)

I Dream of Genie

Noel has been throwing out so much new stuff lately, I can't keep up! It was the same when he toured before. Lots of selfies, lots of articles, lots of interviews. So I'll do my best to post as many as possible. At least it looks like he's having a good time!

One Bloggers Impressions of AEWNF

I found this blog where the author very accurately writes about her experience at Noel's first show in Boston, and she shares her impressions. I would very much like to just copy and paste the whole piece here (giving her credit, of course) but I don't want to infringe on someone else's writing. So instead, here's the link; if you have seen the show, it's a nice run-down of the show. If you haven't seen it, but will soon, you might want to come back, because there are some "spoilers", although I don't think they would ruin the show for you.

An Evening With Noel Fielding--In Chicago

I had hoped to have lots of brilliant photos from Saturday night to post this week, but it didn't really happen. Several reasons, actually. For one, my camera is on its last leg. And of course, they didn't allow photos during the show. Now, some people were brave and did, but I wasn't taking the chance of getting kicked out. And, although we waited outside for a while, we heard the crew wasn't coming out for several hours, and we didn't hang around. Some of them that did still didn't get to meet him. It would have been a bonus, yes, but at the same time, the show was amazing and we got to sit in the second row, so I was only about 20 feet from him and I'm just going to revel in that (for the rest of my life!).  [X]

Cracking The US-- Only 1 More Day!

This interview with The Guardian must have been before the tour started, although it is dated March 23, because it says he's excited about the American show but he's not sure how the response will be. Well, if one goes by the comments on Tumblr and Twitter, I would say well. Very well indeed!

It looks to me like Noel is ready to move on to the next venue--thus getting closer to Chicago. Which is good... Very good!

Our Favorite Cop-- 6 Days!

I'm still on vacation far away from my PC, so I am "borrowing" this photo of Sgt. Raymond  Boombox from amandaverdon on Instagram. No comment, just something to look at and enjoy today!

Music Video? -- 8 Days!

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here, but this photo set is on Les Claypool's Instagram. Filming a video, it appears. Maybe for this? Sean Lennon's involved, so double win for me.

Favorite Pictures-- 11 Days!

Noel as Dickie, again. I find the makeup so fascinating. I mean, I can see Noel, but it's such a bazaar form of Noel. Imagine if they had shaved of the sideburns!

Auto Boosh-- 14 Days!

Early Noel on stage in Australia with Julian, doing their show "Auto Boosh". In this segment they do an early version of "Pies". I've seen this dozens of times, in a number of slightly different forms,  and there is still something about the look on Noel's face that kills me every time!

Back In Black-- 15 Days!

So it would appear that Noel has gone back to black. I really did wonder how he was going to work that red/orange hair into the Plasticine world. I don't think the blond hair got nearly as controversial as this last little foray into Noelian hair play. We really are too obsessed with his hair! (but to be fair, he started it!)

Noel In North America! -- 16 Days!

It's kick-off day! An Evening With Noel Fielding starts today in Boston. So here's a little Twitter gem from a few weeks ago,

A Grotesque Fantasy--17 Days!

This article from Clash interviews the director, Ben Charles Edwards, of Set The Thames on Fire. He covers where some of the ideas came from, the plot and music, and of course, he talks about Noel and how they built his character, Dickie.  I imagine the only way I'll get to see it is to buy the DVD, but it seems so interesting, I'll probably do it!

From Boosh To Boston-- 18 Days!

Here we go with the articles! With Noel's tour, I'm sure there will be plenty from each city he plays in. This one is from The Boston Globe. It's a nice article with a nice feel to it. It's a short article, an introduction, really, featuring a little history without reading like a wiki article.

"I like to be busy, otherwise I sort of go a bit mad," he says.

And what, exactly, would it look like if Noel Fielding went mad? "It'd just be me sitting in a chair," he says, laughing. "It'd be really boring."

A History of The Mighty Boosh-- 19 Days!

Den of Geek: An article that follows the journey of Noel and Julian's collaboration. The author traces their years as The Mighty Boosh, starting in 1997 and mentioning the few things they've done together over the last five years, but their solo work is left untouched. It's a nice review for old fans, and for new fans, it gives a good overview of their 15 year history.

So You Wanna Be a Music Video Director?

Let's step away from Noel for a moment and catch up with Rich. I was disappointed at first to find out that Tom wasn't going to be with the show in North America, but I'm starting to get excited about seeing Rich. There are times I think he can be a little much, but at the same time, he can be extremely funny in his own way. I must be getting better acquainted with his humor, because I do find things like this amusing. (And I admit, I absolutely love when he's Eleanor!)

The Weird World of Noel Fielding

Absolutely beautiful pictures accompany this interview in Interview Magazine. It's a nice article, some history--early stuff from when he was a kid and the early years of The Mighty Boosh that I've not read before. There is one place in the interview that I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong or there is just a typo, but Noel is talking about Julian and it sounds like he's talking about Frankie Boyle. Anyway, give it a read.
