Now I'm really confused-- Noel's hair is back to gold again. So, maybe the black from a couple of weeks ago was just a wash? Or maybe this pic was from before and The Velvet Onion just now ran it? Anyway, Joe has an exhibit of his work running right now.

I don't know much about this event, except that Noel will be there and it's happening next week (Nov. 29) in L.A. Details at The Velvet Onion and here. Just thought I'd mention it, just in case anyone is in L.A. next week.

More On Brakes

Check out this Velvet Onion interview with Mercedes Grower about the 4-year journey that was the making of Brakes. Although Noel has mentioned it on occasion, I didn't realize it had been in the works for that long, nor how many of the "the gang" were involved. Oliver Ralfe and Joseph Lynn were also included in production. It sounds interesting and I hope the movie gets a chance to be seen.

Mike describes his role in An Evening With… as a lot more developed than the role he played on the Boosh tours, which is something he enjoys. I ask him how the working relationship between Noel, Tom and himself differs from that of the Boosh gang. “Its very different working as a trio,” he says. “Noel, Tom and I get on very well, we never fall out – even when we’re living in each others’ pockets on the road. When you have a bigger group, like the Boosh tour did, there’s too many egos in the pot; always someone trying to outshine the others or be the loudest. There’s great camaraderie in our trio; we call ourselves the Peloton, as we all have each others backs equally.”

An article from The Velvet Onion posted in November of last year, it talks about "Evening" pre-America, when Tom was touring as part of the trio. This article centers around Tom and Mike, giving it a different perspective. It's interesting to see what other projects the two are involved in.

Dynamic Duo

We may have lost Never Mind the Buzzcocks, but at least we still have Big Fat Quiz! And soon we will get to watch the Big Fat Quiz of Everything, and one of our favorite duos will be panelists! That's right, folks, Noel and Richard are at it again. The Velvet Onion doesn't know when it'll air yet, but they'll keep us informed, I'm sure. 

Journey of the Man Child

Joe Lynn just seemed to come out of nowhere, following Noel around, taking pictures. "Bless him for sharing" I thought, but wondered how he got that lucky, especially when I realized how young he is. Son of a friend, family member? Still not sure, but there is a nice interview here with the Velvet Onion that gives us a little insight into "Pirate Joe".

I've picked up so much info from The Velvet Onion. It's an amazing site and its people do such a wonderful job. I admire their dedication! So, happy birthday and I hope you have many more! (Otherwise, where is this American going to get her updates?) Anyway, Dave makes an appearance in the video. Give it a watch!

Not Safe For Work

Julian is going on the stage again, theater-wise, according to The Velvet Onion. The play will show in late October and November. I'll let you read it yourself here.
