HIV - The Musical

Cleaning out my archives again today! Here is a short film starring Martin Freeman and Julian Barratt. I imagine this is truer in the entertainment business than we, the audience, realize!

Favorite Fashions

I'm sorry I can't credit this picture because I have no clue where it came from--I'm guessing it was a fan photo from Tuesday evening after the NMTB taping. Anyway the person that captioned it mentioned "Pip's coat". My husband saw the picture before I did and read it to me and then wondered aloud "who's Pip?". And without even thinking about it, I said "Pip Valentine." Yes, that jacket will always say Pip to those of us in the know!

Homepride Fred About The House

Not something I'm familiar with in the US, but there is a nice article about it at The Velvet Onion and we get to hear Julian's smooth voice. I actually get a kick out of the commercial, the wife's glance at Fred, the husband's questioning look. It's a win-win!

Throw Back Thursday

My first true obsession was Tolkien's Middle Earth and it started with this animated TV event. I had a teacher that was a huge LOTR fan and he recommended to our class that we watch this-- which a friend and I did, and then we read the books and re-read them and saw Ralph Bakshi's Lord of The Rings multiple times. I spread that love on to my husband and my children when Peter Jackson made the movies, better than 10 years now. Yes, my obsessions can be long-lived!

Something To Look Forward To!

The 28th season of NeverMind The Buzzcocks will be starting soon with Rhod Gilbert sitting as permanent host, the first since Simon Amstell announced that he wouldn't be returning in 2009. Yes, there is excitement at my house. We've been rewatching past years in anticipation!

Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy - Series 2 Behind the Scenes Documentary

Joseph Lynn's behind the scenes documentary, which I believe is included on the DVD. But, if like me, the chances of getting the DVD are slim, watch it here! It really is a good look at the fun the crew had making Luxury Comedy. And they call it work...

I don't think I have to even say anything about this one. Noel in his mirrorballsuit with an Adam Ant stripe and Julian with his guitar. So typical Boosh!

Best high speed chase ever put to film!

"I'm sweating now." Noel's guest appearance on Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, playing Monkey Man on the episode "Apes of Wrath" in 2004.

When? Where? I don't know, but we've all seen that hat enough to guess it's around 2007. It has the feel of a photo shoot for a magazine article to me, but it could just as easily be publicity shots. Whatever, it's definitely one of my favorite shots of Julian. And I want Noel's coat.

Old Rope Performance

A couple of pictures from The Velvet Onion's Twitter, taken on Monday, (Sept. 15), just days before he colored his hair back to black. I'm a bit sad about it-- just look at that second picture.

Back In Black!

From Noel's Twitter yesterday with the caption "And the crow is back in the room". I liked the blond, but I admit, the black really does fit his face.

Good Reads

Going through and "cleaning up" some stuff that I saved to use earlier and somehow missed. Noel did this interview for the premier of Luxury Comedy: Tales of Painted Hawaii. While discussing the first LC series, he states that it was a reaction to his experience with The Mighty Boosh:
"Julian and I got grossly popular – that wasn't supposed to happen! That was not in the script. "
Unlike so many interviews that he did pre-LC that mainly discussed his upcoming TV show, this one covers many topics, Julian and The Mighty Boosh being mentioned often. He ends it by discussing Never Mind the Buzzcocks and his upcoming Stand-Up gigs. It's a good read.  Read it Here

Fashion Favorites

Noel must be modeling for Bas Koesters again. Have I ever mentioned that I find clowns to be a bit creepy? Well, I do. Maybe if he keeps dressing like this, I'll get over it!

Noel Fielding - The COMEDY Network 1

A companion to what I posted yesterday. Is it any question that Julian and Noel were meant for each other? Definitely, we can see the seeds of The Mighty Boosh and Luxury Comedy.

Julian Barratt - My Doctor

A storm took out my internet a few days ago and I just now got it back and I'm short on time, so here's the first thing I found when I got back on Tumblr, so I'm sharing it. Short, yes, but the quality is good!

Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy Episode 3 - Reality Man

Today, enjoy Episode 3, Reality Man. This episode features Richard Ayoade as Reality Man, and of course Fantasy Man and Big Chief Whoolabum Boomalackaway are featured characters!

Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy:Tales From Painted Hawaii, Ep 1

I previously posted a couple of episodes of Tales From Painted Hawaii, but they got shut down. Having found them again, I'm going to repost them and hope for the best. This second series has a coherent story line, whereas the first series had a very loose, barely there story line, so if you really didn't care for the first series, take 23 minutes and give this one a chance. If you did like the first series, I think you'll be delighted to see some of our favorite characters are black, plus a few new ones. (Personally, Curtis Tony and Tony Curtis slay me, every time!) Basoo!

I don't really have anything to say about this picture because I have no idea where it is or when it is, but somehow it has found it's way into my picture file and I am having a major Noel feels day. Breath, honey, breath.

The Mighty Boosh - The Culture Show

More of The Culture Show, this time talking about The Mighty Boosh performing live. I've seen stills from this and didn't know where they came from-- now I do!!! Noel and the green coat. It's worth watching, just for that!

The Mighty Boosh On The Culture Show.

Cleaning up some of my "archive" and I found this hidden treasure-- an interview about Series 3. I had forgotten this, so it's like I'm watching it again for the first time! They talk about their early influences. I really don't know anything about this interview and it isn't something I've seen pop up on other sites. So, please enjoy it as much as I did!

Tom Meeten & Mike Fielding - Luxury Comedy 2 teaser

It' over, all too soon. The anticipation built for a year, and then in five short weeks, zip and we're done! Sooo, on that note, I'm posting a short teaser that I never posted with Tom and Mike. (And yes, I thought it was worth the wait!)

Yeah, okay, so they both look a bit pissed. Not in the mad way, but the "wow, this drink is good, let's have another".

Favorite Pictures

Why do we love Noel Fielding? Because he dresses up as Old Gregg in a see-through tutu with only his y-fronts on underneath. And why do we love Julian Barratt? 'Cos he acts like that's a natural thing to do.

Well, those aren't the only reasons, but I think it's a good start.
